Francis Ford Coppola’s famous, and occasionally infamous, screen classic turns 50 in 2022. Join film historian Otto Bruno (and Oasis’ resident Sicilian) as he surveys the film’s origins, creation, and incredibly lasting and influential cultural impact. Topics of discussion will include Mario Puzo and his titular novel, the struggles of Coppola to get the film made his way, the casting, the audience’s response, and the impact it had on popular culture then and now.
