Description
After Sinatra's comeback in the 1950's, the singer broke from Capitol Records to set up his own Reprise label. This course will explore his success with both standards and new material. Special attention will be on "The September of My Years" and "Sinatra at the Sands" albums, as well as collaborations with Duke Ellington and Antonio Carlos Jobim. A few film clips will supplement the recorded music. Jim Kraus is a retired City School District English teacher with a strong interest in singers of the great American pop music songbook.
