Our annual holiday film this year will be Desk Set (1957) starring Spencer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn, and Joan Blondell. It’s a combination romantic comedy and postwar tale of warning about the coming technological revolution. Tracy’s and Hepburn’s eighth collaboration, and first color film, is a lighthearted and sparkling piece of 1950s Hollywood glamour with some charming comedic flourishes.
