Description
Seurat is known as a pointillist. His dots were part of a reconsideration of how to paint on the part of artists influenced by Impressionism. He was aware not only of the Impressionists and their iconography of leisure, but also of the contemporary concerns of anarchists and symbolists. This four-session class will look at his works in the artistic and social context of his times. Please register for this class if you plan to access it via Zoom.
