At a time when more women were trained as artists, opportunities for making and selling art increased. Women exhibited with the Impressionists, had a separate building at the 1893 Worlds Columbian Exposition and formed part of collectives like the Omega Workshops in England. Nevertheless the work of women was often received differently. The three-session class will look at works by women in France, England and America in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
