Description

Born in Rochester, New York in 1912, Kanin went on to a long and successful career as an actor, playwright, novelist, screenwriter, and director of both stage and screen classics. This class will focus on Kanin’s experiences in Hollywood with some of the legendary names of film history: his battles with Sam Goldwyn, his successful screenwriting partnership with wife Ruth Gordon, his working relationship and friendships with Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn, and his direction of screen legends including Carole Lombard, Cary Grant, and Ginger Rogers.
