In November of 1963 President Lyndon Johnson became President after JFK’s assassination. A year later in 1964 he was running for re-election against Barry Goldwater. Goldwater is one of the people responsible for beginning the modern Conservative movement in America. LBJ is one of the people who began, what some people call, the modern welfare state. Come hear MCC professor of history, Mark Sample, tell the story of that election and the people involved.
