Physical therapist Nancy Alexander leads this fun workout that builds your bones and boosts your balance. This class is a series of sessions that integrates Pilates, strength training, functional movement and rehabilitative exercises to improve the health and longevity of your bones and joints. Exercises are presented at an introductory level. Though not required, this program is safe for those with osteoporosis. Expect education for proper form in every class. This class is a prerequisite for the Buff Bones® Intermediate Level 2 class. Buff Bones® is a medically-endorsed, full body workout that only licensed instructors can provide. Always consult your physician before starting any new exercise program. Participants must be able to stand on both feet and get up from the floor without assistance. Allow enough space for your mat and space around it to move (approximately 5 feet total on either side). Please be near a wall (or stable surface) to use for some exercises and also for your safety with balance activities. Please have a mat, small towel, small hand weights and a bottle of water ready for use. You must have a computer/laptop, tablet or phone with sound and camera access.
