It makes sense, ironically, that New York City has had the biggest events of political corruption. Including the building of a relatively small structure that cost more than the U.S. Capitol building to construct. Yet, in an era where the fear of immigrants ruled everything with an iron grip, this was seen as an improvement… a way to end mismanagement. By putting all the city’s money into the hands of a unique group of people—who just happened to be crooks.
