Description

Most historians agree that our greatest President was Abraham Lincoln, the leader who preserved the Union and led the way to slavery’s abolition during the Civil War era.  Many blame Lincoln’s immediate predecessors, Millard Fillmore, Franklin Pierce and James Buchanan, for the Civil War.  That said, some rank them as the three most ineffective Presidents in our nation’s history. This class will look at the lives of these three men and challenge you to make up your own mind.  Were they deserving of the negative recognition that has come their way? Mr. Schockow is a recently retired Junior High School history teacher.
