Description
“Yugoslav [now Croatian] poetry was the bread and butter of human (and national) existence in revolt and resistance throughout the ages….” (Berislav Nikpaj) This course will be focused on how these stories and poems enable us to experience an emotional connection with a people and a culture, going far beyond history or news items to quicken our understanding, our empathy, and our humanity. The literature will be available on a website developed by the instructor. ?A companion courses “Croatia: Up Close and Personal” is also offered this trimester. Class is given via Zoom.
