Description
Single Worst Day of the British Army. Battles go wrong all the time. One wrong decision can end the lives of thousands. But in the industrial killing ground of World War I, that number could be magnified by machine efficiency. Usually, it takes an entire day for things to go disastrously wrong. But in the 1916 Battle of the Somme, it took less than an hour. The entire thing went so badly that it made the Charge of the Light Brigade seem like a reasonable military exercise. But instead of ending it there, the fighting went on for five more months. Please register for this class if you are interested in participating via in person only.
