The Election Everyone Lost. Certainly, we see the current elections as a mess. But what we’ve lived through recently can hold a candle to the corrupt activities of the past. There was even talk of a second civil war if the election didn’t turn out right. This campaign was vicious, violent, and unnecessarily cruel. But to top off all that anger and pain, few people today could tell you who was involved… most people have even forgotten the winner's name! Franklin then electrified him with his miraculous lightning rod and the three of them, Franklin, Washington and the horse, conducted the entire revolution all by themselves.” Classic as this line may be, Ben Franklin was critical to our becoming an independent country. The 40 Whacks Murderer. If Jack the Ripper was Great Britain’s most famous unsolved murder, then Lizzy Borden has to be in the top five American unsolved crimes. Fall River was happy to have caught Lizzy for the axe murder of her parents, but did she do it? Way before Mr. Miranda was even arrested, Lizzie lost her rights in the courtroom and in public opinion. There are more missing pieces in this story than perhaps any other murder mystery in the United States. But if Lizzie didn’t do it, then who did? Yet for a crime so enormous as the Lindbergh kidnapping no progress was made in finding a suspect for almost two and a half years. Even today’s criminal experts have a hard time agreeing on what the facts of the case point to… and ultimately who or how many were responsible. To this day, the majority of the ramson money remains unaccounted for. This would be the biggest mystery case until D. B.
